It’s been so gratifying spending this past month in my garden. I love the sun’s warmth and getting my hands into the earth. What a thrill to see the flowers I’ve planted begin growing from the ground.
I also welcome the chance to embrace the season with accessories that please the senses. Here are a few things I’ve done that you may wish to enjoy as well:
I’ve switched out my winter scented candles for ones that have a lighter, floral scent.
Consider buying battery operated candles that can be placed inside of lanterns; many varieties have timers. They bring such sparkle to outdoor spaces, gardens and walkways. See one on my patio below.
Everyone loves a bonfire. They always bring people together. If you don’t already have one, there are marvelous models fire pits that utilize alcohol gel.
Get some of those great-smelling new citronella candles that no longer smell chemically. Nobody likes getting eaten up by flying critters, so they may as well smell good.
Something I do in Montauk is buy perennial plants and put them in clay pots, like I have on my stone patio in Montauk. At the end of the season, just plant them around your garden to enjoy for the next year.
