Having returned from my annual travels just two weeks ago, I am still relishing the many sights, tastes, and adventures from “parts unknown”, as Anthony Bourdain would say. Always seeking inspiration, my visits to Bali, Thailand, Chad, Egypt and Namibia brought me so much inner peace and visual delight.
In my encounters, it’s the children who bring me the most joy. No matter where I go in the most remote areas of the world, people are as curious about me, as I of them. The faces of the adults express apprehension. The children are simply delighted to meet a well-meaning stranger. Above, in Namibia are young, Himba Tribe boys enjoying my presence; the older boy is showing me the necklaces he and his family make and sell.
I love the stories told with heart through my interpreters, and I love the hunt for just the right pieces to bring back to my VW Home by Vicente Wolf showroom. Pictured above are their woven necklaces with metal beading, which the Tribe is known for. They are beautiful when worn or displayed on stands.
